I have been involved in music since I was a child growing up in the Netherlands. Classically trained on the French horn, I played throughout high school and university years. During that time, I studied under several principal horn players in the Houston and Dallas symphonies. I played and performed in many groups, including a professional German polka band, the SMU Mustang Marching Band, and several others. I also worked as a studio musician, playing horn on several albums accompanying various groups recording in the Houston area. At the same time, I was studying behavioral sciences and music therapy. I also taught French horn to many young music students.

I began playing guitar publicly in the 1990s with the liturgical band at Seattle’s St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, where I performed for several years. I created The Acoustic DJ in 2020.

Working as a music journalist and photography, I shot and wrote for various publications as well as Arista Records’ A&R department.
